Abril Chimal is a Mexican foresight designer, futures researcher, and strategic design practitioner recognized as a leader in the global foresight community.
With a background in graphic design and a postgraduate specialization in Design of Tomorrow, she blends creativity with futures thinking to help individuals and organizations anticipate change and shape preferred futures. Chimal serves as Co-Chair of the Association of Professional Futurists (APF), a global nonprofit dedicated to advancing the professional practice of foresight, and is a co-lead editor for Perspectives at the Journal of Futures Studies.
She also teaches futures thinking and design fiction as a professor at CENTRO in Mexico City. Through her research, teaching, and international speaking engagements, Abril contributes to advancing futures literacy and creative foresight practices across disciplines.
