I became a doula after experiencing firsthand the difference between entering birth with support and facing it alone. My first experience of motherhood was overwhelming in ways I hadn't anticipated. My second was completely different — not because it was easier, but because I had community. Women who showed up, sat at the table, prayed with me, and understood what the season actually felt like.

I founded Born Motherhood LLC to give families in Southwest Virginia that same experience — steady, informed support rooted in faith, evidence, and community. I am a certified birth doula specializing in labor support and VBAC, and I also train the next generation of birth workers through the Born Motherhood Doula Cohort. My belief is simple: birth is sacred, and support should be too.
