Christian Navarro-Torres, Ph.D. is a cognitive neuroscientist with training in cognitive psychology, neuroscience, language science, and applied data analysis. He earned his Ph.D. in Language Science from UC Irvine, an M.S. in Cognitive Psychology from Penn State, and completed postdoctoral fellowships at Princeton and Georgetown, where he studied the link between neuroplasticity and clinical assessment in patients with brain damage.

Beyond his academic work, Christian is a complex, hypersensitive patient who has faced serious microbial colonizations and co-infections of his own. That personal experience, paired with his scientific training, led him to co-found CIRS Lab, where he brings together researchers, doctors, and patients to advance the understanding of Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome. He also serves as Scientific Director of The CIRS Research Foundation and works as a research consultant on environmental health and immune dysregulation.
