Christina Ransbury spent nearly eight years managing a 10-acre off-grid property on the east side of Maui, where she learned building, permaculture, and community living firsthand. That work took her from a bamboo farm in Hawai'i to studying bamboo techniques in Bali, and eventually to the high desert of Colorado, where she began building with compressed earth blocks.

Over more than a decade, she has designed custom homes using natural materials like bamboo, strawbale, and earth block across a range of climates. She founded C Ransbury Design to help people build homes that work with their land instead of against it, and later created Resilient by Design so first-time landowners could go through that same process with hands-on guidance, a professional team, and a community of people building alongside them.
