Damian Hinks spent two decades building a career across the creative industry, working as a designer, UX leader, and studio director before becoming a coach. He led the Australian arm of global brand consultancy Elmwood, ran a fast-growing UX agency at Carter Digital, headed design and research teams at Thirst Studios, and streamlined production and quality standards at Cornwell Design, experience that gave him a firsthand view of what makes creative businesses succeed or stall.

That two-decade run through agency leadership convinced Damian that most creative founders don't fail for lack of talent, but for lack of business support. He now works exclusively with creative business owners, coaching designers, photographers, strategists, and architects through The Commercial Creative, and mentors emerging talent through programs like General Assembly and the Design Institute of Australia's Conversation Series.
