"I’m Jocelyn Prince—JP to my friends—and the creator of Theater Folx of Color. I started TFOC in 2018 after feeling isolated in predominantly white theater institutions and wanting a place to fellowship with BIPOC artists who shared that experience.

TFOC amplifies the voices and work of BIPOC theater artists in an affinity space rooted in support, connection, and collective power. What began as a Facebook group has grown to 14K+ members, thanks to the intergenerational collective of Black women who helped launch it and everyone who made it special.

Our new private home on Circle.so gives us more control, privacy, and room to grow, with spaces for dialogue, resources, workshops, gatherings, and collaboration beyond corporate social media.

I’ve spent two decades working in theater as an administrator, dramaturg, consultant, educator, and teaching artist. I’m committed to championing, connecting, and celebrating BIPOC voices in theater. This work matters.
