I’m Julian van Straten, a South African–born electronic music producer and the artist behind the project Bound to Divide. Over the years, my music has reached millions of listeners worldwide, with releases supported by artists like Paul van Dyk, Above & Beyond, and Nora En Pure. Alongside my work as a DJ and producer, I’ve built a career in sound design, education, and helping other producers refine their craft.

My passion lies in demystifying professional music production and giving creators the tools to develop their own sound. Through Basic Wavez, I collaborate with producers, sound designers, and artists to create educational content and production tools that push electronic music forward. Everything I build is focused on empowering producers at every level to learn faster, experiment more boldly, and connect with a global creative community.
