About
Julien Camus is the founder and president of the Wine Scholar Guild (WSG), an organization internationally recognized for its specialized wine education programs. A native of France, he holds a Master’s degree in International Marketing from the Strasbourg Management School and began his career as Trade Attaché for Wines and Spirits at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C. There, he identified the need for more structured and in-depth education on French wines, which inspired him to launch the French Wine Society in 2005.
Named one of the “Future 50” by WSET and IWSC, Camus is known for championing authenticity, terroir, and sustainability in wine, and for promoting depth of study over breadth. His vision is to make wine education rigorous, relevant, and globally accessible, blending academic detail with sensory exploration and cultural appreciation.
