Karen McGuigan is an education consultant and the founder of the Maths For Life programme, established in 2019. She studied maths at degree level as part of her Masters in Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. Originally from Northern Ireland, she set up The Maths Mum in 2018 to help parents support their children with maths. Inspired by her son Lance, who has Down syndrome, she created a differentiated maths curriculum designed for students who cannot access the standard national curriculum. Her programme has been adopted by schools across the UK and internationally.
