Kyle Williams was raised in Plainfield, New Jersey, and spent 17 years at Community Academy Public Charter School in Washington, D.C., first as a teacher and then as principal, having been appointed Academy Leader in 2004. With over 25 years of experience in education and social justice, he has dedicated his career to fostering critical conversations that inspire meaningful change. He founded A Long Talk in 2020 in the wake of George Floyd's death, enlisting his longtime collaborator Kamal Carter to help develop a curriculum for interrupting ignorance in real time. Since founding A Long Talk, Williams has engaged more than 25,000 participants across hundreds of institutions, including universities, athletic programs, and corporate organizations. He serves as Creator and Chief Empowerment Officer of A Long Talk, bringing the CPR Protocol framework to audiences committed to building a more equitable world.
