Liezel Strauss and Pegah Kargar are the co-founders of Rise and Repaint, an online artist network they launched after years of running the ArtGirlRising and Repaint History communities. Liezel has been recognized by UN Women as one of the top 100 female innovators worldwide, while Pegah brings a passion for connecting women artists with meaningful opportunities in the art world. Together, they have spent nearly a decade championing the careers of women and non-binary visual artists globally. Their approach blends personal mentorship with access to industry leaders including gallerists, collectors, and curators. They have grown a community of over 100,000 artists and placed more than 1,000 members in international exhibitions, residencies, and open calls.
