I started as a corporate-bond trader on Wall Street, and my dream was to bank enough money to effectively sign myself to a record deal and quit my career in finance. In March 2020 (terrible timing), I did exactly that... launching my solo artist project, "telco".
I quickly realized how TERRIBLE the landscape is for independent artists. Artists are forced to spend more time creating content than making music, and the industry is suffering as a result. After a few years of relentelssly promoting my music, I lost my passion for music and stopped releasing music.
Instead, I turned my attention towards fixing the core problems in the music industry, namely the traditional record label model. I created the first fully-transparent, community-funded record label... MAD Records, and the rest is history.
