Mitzie Schafer is a quilt pattern designer and educator based in Newberry, South Carolina, and the creator behind Jittery Wings Quilt Co. She developed Color Flow Theory, her signature system for arranging fabric by hue and value so quilts feel balanced, dynamic, and intentional without rigid rules. Mitzie designs controlled improv quilt patterns — a style where no two quilts come out exactly the same — and teaches color confidence through courses, retreats, and her community, the Jittery Wings Hive. She runs a physical retail presence in Newberry, South Carolina, as well as an online shop and pattern library, and is known for her warm teaching style and commitment to making color accessible to quilters at every level.
