Dr. Patrick O'Malley has spent more than 20 years as an emergency and urgent care physician, treating patients while building a second career as an entrepreneur. Along the way he created The Laceration Course and The Abscess Course with EB Medicine, invented the IRIG-8 wound irrigation device now sold through Medline, and developed Lactalite, a breast pump accessory born out of a need in his own family.

That mix of clinical grounding and hands-on business building is what led him to found ShiftChange Community. He started it to give fellow ER and urgent care clinicians a place to work through side businesses and additional income streams without stepping away from patient care. Dr. O'Malley now spends much of his time connecting physicians with opportunities and mentoring them through the early, uncertain stages of building something of their own.
