Pietro Schito grew up in Milan, Italy, where a childhood meeting with Disney animators sparked a lifelong fascination with animation. After working in television production, he moved to Mexico and then the United States, completing the screenwriting program at the New York Film Academy's Universal Studios branch, and went on to write and produce projects including Thingdom, The Piano, and Inzomnia.

In 2018 Pietro founded Write for Animation, a YouTube channel and community where he shares screenwriting insights drawn from his work with writers and studios connected to Pixar, Netflix, Disney, and DreamWorks. That work led him to create the Write for Animation Academy, a membership built to help fellow animation writers develop their craft and their careers.
