Beyond Duality is an 8-week online course that goes beyond sustainability-as-usual and green-growth solutions to explore the foundational idea of separation — the assumption that humans are separate from nature, economies exist outside natural limits, and business concerns are disconnected from ecological ones. The course is structured in four phases: Unlearning Modernity, Transition, Power, and Remembering Ecology, with one short daily chapter (5 to 10 minute reads) released each weekday covering 40 topics in total. Each chapter is accompanied by a supplementary library of written, video, and audio resources, plus original visual artwork created by co-creator Kasper Benjamin Reimer Bjørkskov. Weekly office hours with both course creators allow participants to ask questions and go deeper on any theme throughout the eight weeks. Students gain access to a peer community platform to connect with others working through the same material.
