Do I need to be an experienced practitioner before applying?

A solid personal practice is important — you'll be teaching others, so your own foundation matters. That said, you don't need decades of experience. The Short Course entry point is specifically designed for people who are earlier in their journey and want to explore whether teaching is right for them.

What qualification will I receive?

The programme offers different qualification levels depending on which pathway you take — from CPD points for the Short Course, through to a fully accredited qualification with the Supported Cohort. We'll help you identify which level matches your goals and any professional requirements you may have.

What's the difference between the Self Study and the Supported Cohort?

Self Study gives you access to all 38 modules and over 15 hours of content to work through independently — ideal if you want to develop your skills without formal accreditation or a fixed schedule. The Supported Cohort takes a group of people through the full programme over 8 months with additional mentoring, structured support, and guidance to help you get established as a teacher. Most people who want to teach professionally choose the cohort.

Can I start with the Short Course and decide later whether to continue?

Yes — the modular structure is specifically designed for this. You can join us for the Short Course (a 2-day in-person training in the UK) and use that as a foundation to decide how and whether to progress. Nothing is locked in at the start.

Is there ongoing support after I qualify?

Yes. Graduates have access to our Teachers Community — a peer-led space where qualified teachers from a range of traditions share ideas, resources, and support one another's development.

Developed in conjunction with our training and research partners in the University of Wales, Southampton and Oxford Universities, this programme offers you a range of ways to gain the skills required to teach in a safe and effective manner, while also offering a full accredited programme for those looking for a professional level qualification.

From the Short Course weekend training, all the way through to our 18 month, fully supported programme, our modular approach has been designed to meet your needs, allowing you progress at the pace that feels right for you.

John Millar, our lead tutor, has been teaching Qigong to a wide range of clients since the early 2000’s. His approach to teaching has proven effective in the traditional Qigong teaching space, while also gaining an international reputation for the way it is both relevant and beneficial in the corporate and integrative medicine spaces.

With a focus on the skills required to teach Qigong in an authentic and effective manner, this training is suitable for those who have an established practice in a wide variety of Qigong styles.

Each year we take a cohort of people through the entire programme of training and include a period of mentoring to help you get set up as a teacher.
Various Qualification level (costing between £250 and £2200 in total)
