This Chinese-language System Design course is for engineers who already have a basic answer framework but ramble when interviewers probe. Lessons use English technical terms and whiteboard work. Harold Z built it from his own 150+ System Design interviews as a candidate and interviewer, plus feedback from mentees.

It begins with a quick framework review, then works through 11 Hard practice problems covering payments, large-scale media, job scheduling, risk control and real-time computing. Each one trains Deep Dive depth and trade-off thinking, and the course closes with Senior-level interview techniques and two bonus exercises. It is aimed at Mid, Senior and Staff engineers targeting big tech roles, including those whose System Design round was rated Lean Hire.

    Questions on payments with consistency and idempotency, YouTube-scale video storage, job scheduling, notifications, an IP denylist, real-time leaderboards and A/B testing platforms.

  • Deep Dive and trade-off training

    Each problem trains you to go deeper under follow-up questions and to explain trade-offs clearly, the way Senior and Staff interviews expect.

  • Advanced pattern review and Senior-level tips

    Weeks 5 and 6 pull the advanced design patterns together and cover interview techniques aimed at Senior-level rounds.
