I’m Shannon Deep, co-founder of Bonfire and one of the curators behind Campout, a digital community where the “career curious” can gather to rethink their careers with creativity and intention. After years of crafting brand strategy and storytelling in-house at tech startups, Kevan Lee and I launched Bonfire in 2023 because we felt like we’d come to a career crossroads: We were mid-career professionals seeking more values-aligned work where creativity was wasn’t just a nice-to-have when budgets allowed. We wanted autonomy and to do work that meant something to us, but we didn’t find many helpful roadmaps. So we trailblazed our own and learned a lot in the process! Campout was born in 2025 to offer an online home for anyone who was feeling like we were: stuck, seeking clarity, ready to explore what meaningful work looks like for them. Our vision: Replace isolation with camaraderie and equip members with the resources to do more of the fulfilling creative work that brings them joy.
