Hi, I’m Alex! I’m a fantasy writer and the founder of Feral Writing Society.

While writing my first fantasy novel, I realized I wanted people to do this with. Writers to co-write with, obsess over sentences with, talk tropes and craft with, and support each other from messy first drafts all the way through publishing. Mostly, I wanted writing friends who understood this slightly ridiculous, deeply personal thing we’ve all committed to by deciding to write books. I couldn’t find quite what I was looking for. So I built it.

Conveniently, building communities is also what I do for a living.

I’m the founder of Zen Mondays, a consultancy that helps creators and education providers build communities and the operations behind them. Before and alongside that, I’ve somehow collected careers in entertainment law, programming, business consulting, and design. Turns out, knowing how to do a bunch of seemingly unrelated things is pretty useful when you decide to build something like FWS!
