About

Left Book Club is a UK not-for-profit book subscription. The current club launched in 2015 and traces its roots to the original Left Book Club founded by publisher Victor Gollancz in 1936, which opposed war, inequality and fascism and grew to 57,000 members.

Today the club aims to recreate that spirit by bringing people together to read a carefully-curated selection of the best radical books. Each book is selected by an editorial panel of writers, activists, trade unionists and booksellers, published in a unique edition and posted to members every month. With over 80 reading groups across the UK, and online options for those based elsewhere, members also get access to online political education resources and Academy courses.
