Maggie Lessel started Fore the Girls STL in May 2025 after struggling to find a welcoming women's golf group that fit an after-work schedule in St. Louis. What began as a small idea drew hundreds of interested women within days of appearing on Instagram.

Maggie built the community around low-pressure meetups where women can show up solo and leave with new connections. Kate Arthur joined early to help organize and scale the group, and together they run weekly driving range nights, group rounds, and beginner clinics.
