Impact communications is a purpose-led approach to PR and communications: impact first, PR second. The Impact Communications Institute (ICI) is the nonprofit and global network building that practice, and its community is designed for the people doing the work early in their careers.

Members are emerging and early-career communicators, students, and career-switchers working toward social and environmental impact in every kind of organization, from agencies and nonprofits to global brands and small purpose-driven companies.

Free members get oriented to the community and join the Impact Council virtual event series, where experienced strategists work through real challenges in candid, conversational sessions. Pro members go deeper with full access to community discussions, Impact Council recordings, a monthly live Q&A with ICI leaders, shared templates and tools, and early access to jobs and opportunities. The Agenda newsletter shares short, practical perspectives from across the field.

The ICI Charter of Ethical Communications sets out the principles that guide the community, and members can sign it as a public commitment to their practice. Foundations of Impact Communications, ICI’s first certification program, launches in 2027.
