Midwives, nurses, doulas, and birth workers often reach a point where they want deeper, structured training in lactation support but struggle to find a program that meets IBLCE education requirements. Motherhood Matters was founded by Felicity Hughes, a Registered Midwife and IBCLC, to give health professionals a clear path into lactation care through evidence-based, flexible training.

The program combines small group sessions, workshops, and online components so participants can build their skills around existing clinical work. Those pursuing IBCLC certification through Pathway 3 can also join Felicity's mentoring program, which pairs them directly with an experienced IBCLC for virtual or face-to-face guidance as they work toward certification.
