Novel 101

Learn how to write a novel, not just in theory, but by actually writing a novel

Community, Course
Pursue new interests

Most writers have trouble translating their ideas into a novel because they either don't know what to do or try to do too much at once. Nov101 is an interactive course designed to help writers learn how to write a novel, not just in theory, but by actually writing a novel. The course will show you how to organize the novel writing process by breaking it up into key stages, with each month focusing on one stage that builds upon the next.

This course is a microcosm of the entire novel writing process: you’ll work through brainstorming and identifying an idea for a story you want to write, developing that idea into a plot, creating an outline, tackling a first draft, using the first draft to solve story problems, using the insights from your first draft to write a second draft, and finally, how to create a revision plan so that the novel in your hand can look like the one in your head.

Outcomes

  • Build a writing practice & skills to adapt it for real life
  • Differentiate how to write a first, second, and third draft
  • Evaluate story problems & learn how to solve them
  • Develop familiarity with your own writing intuition
  • Firsthand experience completing a story in multiple drafts

What's included?

  • Monthly Lectures

Every month, we gather for a live lecture where I walk you through the next stage in the novel-writing process.

  • Trial by Fire

See the process in action through video demonstrations as I work on my own novella

Join a cohort of like-minded writers who are in the exact same place as you, and meet our more experienced writers who have been through the course before.
